Latest Arrangements for
Rating and Valuation Department


In light of the special work arrangement announced by the Government on March 21, starting from April 6, the opening hours of our enquiry counters will be adjusted as follows to provide basic and limited counter services to members of the public until further notice.


Opening hours of enquiry counters

Monday to ‪Friday (8:30 am - 3:00 pm)‬
(except public holidays)‬


To achieve social distancing, members of the public are encouraged to use the department's 24-hour electronic services (www.rvd.gov.hk) to submit forms or obtain information as far as possible. Public enquiries may also be made to the department by email enquiries@rvd.gov.hk), by fax (2152 0138) or by phone at 2152 0111 / 2152 2152, and the waiting /response time may be longer.‬‬‬


Members of the public may use the drop-in box at the ground floor of the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices for urgent submission of documents when the counters are not in service. Please do not tender cheques or cash into the drop-in box.

Latest arrangement on
Rent Officer’s service at District Offices


Starting from 6 April 2020, the department will temporarily suspend the Rent Officer’s service at specified time in various District Offices until further notice.


To achieve social distancing, members of the public are encouraged to use the department’s 24-hour electronic services ( www.rvd.gov.hk ) to submit forms or obtain information as far as possible. Public enquiries on tenancy matters may also be made by email ( enquiries@rvd.gov.hk ) , by fax (2152 0138) or by phone at 2150 8229 / 2150 8577.

Pay rates and Government rent for the April to June quarter 2020 by

 Pay January to March Quarterly Rates and/or Government Rent

The demand notes for rates and Government rent of this quarter have been posted. If payers have not received the demand notes, please contact the Department by email (enquiries@rvd.gov.hk), by fax (2152 0138) or by phone at 2152 0111. Payers can also check account balance through the Department’s Account Enquiries and obtain a “payment QR code” or “FPS” payment code for making payment.

The Department has completed the General Revaluation and declared the Valuation List and Government Rent Roll on 13 March 2020 for public inspection online. Members of the public can view the new rateable values on the Property Information Online free of charge during the period from 16 March 2020 to 31 May 2020.
