“Regulated Tenancies of Subdivided Units - Second Term Tenancy” Exhibition


Part IVA of the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance (Cap.7) (the Ordinance) which implements tenancy control on subdivided units (SDUs) came into force on 22 January 2022. A tenancy which fulfils all of the conditions for a regulated tenancy is regulated under the Ordinance. Pursuant to the Ordinance, a regulated cycle of regulated tenancies is to comprise two consecutive regulated tenancies (i.e. first term tenancy and second term tenancy) for an SDU, and the term of each regulated tenancy is two years.

Since the first batch of regulated tenancies is about to approach their second term tenancies, this Department will hold the “Regulated Tenancies of Subdivided Units - Second Term Tenancy” exhibition from 30 October to 3 November 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm at the ground floor lobby of Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, to assist SDU landlords and tenants to understand the important matters pertaining to the second term tenancy, and procedures that need to be followed about two months prior to the commencement of the purported second term tenancy. All are welcome to visit the exhibition.
