Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2025


(1) Summer Intern – Surveying

Allowance: HK $11,200 per month

Entry Requirements :

Applicants should:

  1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  2. be full-time post-secondary students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree / accredited Higher Diploma / accredited Associate Degree in Estate Surveying or Real Estate Management;
  3. have completed Year 2 or Year 3 of undergraduates of a cognate bachelor degree in Estate Surveying which is recognised by The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors for registering for the Assessment of Professional Competence in the General Practice Division (Note (1)); or completed Year 1 / non-final year students of a Higher Diploma or Associate Degree in Estate Surveying or Real Estate Management (Note (2));
  4. be proficient in Microsoft Office; and
  5. be fluent in both Chinese and English.

Note:

(1) Applicants who are expected to graduate in 2025 of the related courses will not be considered.
(2) Applicants who are expected to graduate in 2025 and to continue full-time studies in 2025-26 academic year should produce proof of enrollment letter or acknowledgement receipt of application to the relevant institution

Duties :

Carrying out site inspection, taking photo of the sites inspected, checking building numbers, preparing referencing reports, collecting, inputting and vetting of property data, searching and analysing rental and sales comparables, preparing matching and verifying property records, assisting in valuations for rating and other purposes.

Period of Internship:

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is about 2 months from June to August 2025. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.


(2) Summer Intern – Graphic Design

Allowance: HK $11,200 per month

Entry Requirements :

Applicants should:

  1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  2. be students studying full-time programmes offered by post-secondary institutions;
  3. be non-final year students who have completed Year 2 or Year 3 of a bachelor’s degree / associate degree / higher diploma course in graphic and media design or similar subjects (Note (3));
  4. be proficient in Adobe desktop publishing software (including InDesign, Illustrator, Animate and Photoshop / Lightroom) and Microsoft Office; and
  5. be fluent in both Chinese and English;

Experience in producing artwork for journals is an advantage.

Note:

(3) Applicants who are expected to graduate in 2025 and to continue full-time studies in the 2025-26 academic year should produce proof of enrollment letter or acknowledgement receipt of application to the relevant institution."

Duties :

Assist in the design work for the department’s publications, e-cards and other ad hoc graphic design tasks, including improvement on page layout, photo-taking, incorporating drawings, charts, photographs and other insertions with a view to achieving better visual appeal to readers. Duties include contributions in new ideas as well as actual production of the artworks.

Period of Internship:

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is about 2 months from June to August 2025. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.


(3) Summer Intern – Multimedia

Allowance: HK $11,200 per month

Entry Requirements :

Applicants should:

  1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  2. be students studying full-time programmes offered by post-secondary institutions;
  3. be Year 2 or 3 students of a bachelor degree / higher diploma course in Creative Writing for Film, TV and New Media, or Creative/Digital Media, or Multimedia Technologies and Innovation or similar subjects.
  4. be proficient in operating video recorder, scriptwriting and various computer software related to digital and image-sound media, video editing and production including Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Captivate 2019, Flash, Digital Animation and Photoshop; and
  5. be fluent in both Chinese and English;

Experience in scriptwriting and producing interactive video games and PowerPoint with audio and visual effects is an advantage.

Duties :

Assist in the design and scriptwriting work for the department’s training materials including improvement on the structure and presentation of the existing videos and e-learning courses, photo-taking, incorporating drawings, photographs and other insertions with a view to achieving better audio and visual appeal to users. Duties include contributions to new ideas and innovative multimedia solutions; production of e-learning packages, animated, audio and visual videos, interactive video games, animated PowerPoint presentation or any other non-printed means.

Period of Internship:

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is about 2 months from June to August 2025. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.


(4) Summer Intern – Urban Analytics / Urban Informatics / Geo-informatics / Data Science / Data Analytics / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

Allowance: HK $11,200 per month

Entry Requirements :

Applicants should:

  1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  2. be full-time post-secondary students;
  3. have completed Year 2 or Year 3 of undergraduates of a bachelor degree in urban analytics, urban informatics, geo-informatics, data science, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence / machine learning or similar subjects;
  4. be proficient in Microsoft Office and GIS-based software (e.g. ArcGIS) / R / Python; and
  5. be fluent in both Chinese and English.

Duties :

Assist in statistical and geospatial analysis, data cleansing, data validation and data modelling.

Period of Internship:

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is about 2 months from June to August 2025. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.


Fringe Benefits for Summer Interns:

Rest day, statutory holidays, general holidays, sickness days, where appropriate, will be granted to successful candidates in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance. Summer interns are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

  2. Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should send a fax to (852)2152 0128 or email appointments@rvd.gov.hk for application forms. Completed application forms together with copies of certificates of their student status and academic transcripts should be posted to the above enquiry address on or before the closing date for application (according to the postmark). Candidates who are not invited for an interview by 30 June 2025 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
  3. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.
